History

From the programmatic orientation ago, the EPP was a progressive Christian party, which was founded in 1981, when the Protestant Progressieve Volkspartij with part of the grouping rivet bij brood avenues ( " Not by bread alone "), which had broken away from the CDA, merged.

Among the main objectives of the party who often relied on the Sermon on the Mount, were peace, justice and solidarity. The party would not be limited to the Christian environment and increasingly sought cooperation with other progressive small parties. Given the own failure - it was only represented from 1982 to 1985 with Cathy Ubels Veen as the only members of parliament - she joined in 1989 with the PPR, PSP and CPN for electoral alliance Groen Links together. When this alliance in 1990 converted into a party, the EPP disbanded shortly thereafter.

In 1983, the party had reached 2,820 members of their organizational peak. She gave out since 1981, the party newspaper EPP info. With the Stichting Vorming s Scholing ( Education and Training Foundation ), the EPP had a party house training device with Schering en Inslag since 1988, published its own journal.
