Evangelical Theology Student Council

The Student Council of Protestant Theology ( Seth ) is the nationwide interest of all students of the subject Protestant Theology in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. In contrast to other federal student council meetings he not only belong to 23 local student councils, but also 23 national church conventions.

History

The advocacy is understood as the legal successor of its two predecessor organizations Association of Protestant theology student / conference theological student councils ( Veth / KthF ), formerly Association Ev. Theology in the VDS, and the Protestant Students Council ( ESRA ). The Veth / KthF (West Germany ) and the ESRA (East Germany) have joined a few years after reunification, and finally established in 1995 to Seth.

Organization

The work of advocacy based on

  • The student representatives ( student councils and student unions ) of those universities where Protestant theology is offered as a regular subject
  • The mergers ( convents ) of theology students in the context of the Protestant churches and the SELK, and
  • The representations of the student teachers with the subject Protestant religious education at universities and colleges.

The advocacy represents the interests of its members at the federal level, roughly opposite the Protestant Theological Faculty Association, the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD ), the Ministers of Education (KMK ), etc.

The highest decision-making body of advocacy is the Assembly, which meets at various university locations in Germany three times a year. The current business and the external representation between assemblies takes a two-headed so-called Managing Board.
