Eve (2008 film)

Eve is an American short film by director Natalie Portman in 2008 with Lauren Bacall in the lead role.

Action

The film begins with the fact that the role played by Lauren Bacall grandmother lipstick. Then the doorbell rings and her granddaughter Kate is at the door. Kate is completely surprised when her grandmother told a little later that she has a date, because she expected to speak this evening with her ​​about her mother. But her grandmother suggests that she, instead, to go with her and Joe. When it rings again and Joe is at the door, her grandmother is not finished, whereupon Kate opens the door. As Kate learns in the subsequent Smalltalk, Joe lives in assisted living and has five " assigned " sons. Meanwhile, the grandmother is finished and Joe greeted warmly and Kate sends high so they can get ready for dinner. The three go to a classy restaurant where Joe and his grandmother spend a cheerful evening, while Kate looks quite unhappy. As the slightly drunken Joe both want to go home, however, when leaving a parking ramming other cars, eventually bringing the two Kate home. The grandmother has to Joe to sleep on the couch because it's late and he was drunk. When he refuses she offers him even to sleep in her bed, but what this also rejects. Nevertheless, the two kiss and the grandmother would like to thank Joe for the " magical evening ". At home, Kate knocks on the bedroom door of the grandmother and ask them to talk to her about her mother, but the grandmother replies that she will do so tomorrow. The film concludes with a scene in which we see how the grandmother abschminkt and viewed in a mirror.

"The film is much inspired by personal experiences. Also my friends, and how they define themselves through their relationships with their mothers and grandmothers. Each is responsive to generation of the next and vice-versa. So it is always defined by the reflection on his own ancestors and descendants. I was interested in what it is the original personality of a person could be. My own grandmother was a great help to me, because she always has a very different view of things than I do. "
