Evelyn Lauder

Evelyn Lauder ( born Evelyn H. Hausner; born August 12, 1936 in Vienna, † 13 November, 2011 New York) was an American entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Life

Evelyn H. Hausner's parents had fled from the Nazis in Vienna to New York. She first worked as a teacher and then rose after marriage in July 1959 with her husband Leonard Lauder in the business of its parent Estée Lauder one.

She was responsible for the training of sales personnel, the development of perfumes and marketing.

In 1989, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She began with a worldwide campaign to educate and prevention in the fight against this disease and founded the " Breast Cancer Research Foundation ." Within 18 years they gathered around 350 million dollars in donations and thus supported researchers in the world. Located in New York Memorial Sloan -Kettering Hospital Cancer Center is the Evely H. Lauder Breast Center.

Evelyn Lauder passed away on November 13, 2011 at the age of 75 years to cancer.
