Evelyne Leu

Evelyne Leu ( * July 7, 1976 in Bottmingen ) is a former Swiss freestyle skier of. She was dedicated to the discipline Aerials ( jumping). Her biggest success was the Olympic gold medal in 2006.

Biography

Leu debuted on March 13, 1994 at the freestyle skiing World Cup, and reached it in Hasliberg the 15th Place. Due to injury, they missed the start of the 1994/95 season, but in February 1995 joined the first time in the top ten. Also in the 1995/96 season she has been improved, with a fifth place as best result. On December 7, 1996, she stood as the third World Cup competition of Tignes for the first time on the podium. The 1997/98 season was compared to rather mediocre. On January 8, 1999, she celebrated in Mont Tremblant 's first World Cup victory of her career. Until next podium passed more than a year.

After Leu had won in January 2001 for the second time a World Cup competition, they belonged to the world championship in 2001 among the favorites; in fourth place when they just missed out on a medal. Leu lives in Bünzen and trained in freestyle Center jumpin in Mettmenstetten. She is a trained Elektromechanikerin. She stepped back in April 2010, from competitive sports.
