Everaldo

Everaldo Marques da Silva called, Everaldo, ( born September 11, 1944 in Porto Alegre, † October 28, 1974 in Santa Cruz do Sul ) was a Brazilian football player. He played in the defense of Esporte Clube Juventude, Grêmio Foot -Ball Porto Alegrense and the Brazilian national team. His career highlight he experienced in 1970, when Brazil won all qualifying and finals matches of the 1970 World Cup in Mexico and became world champion. Everaldo stood up on a game every time on the grid, including the final against Italy.

The golden star in Gremio Coat of Arms was established in 1970 mounted his honor. He died in a car accident in Santa Cruz do Sul. He is considered one of the best left-back ever.
