Evergestis nomadalis

Evergestis nomadalis is a butterfly of the family of Crambiden ( Crambidae ).

Features

The moths have a wingspan of 31-33 millimeters. The antennae of the males are ciliated very short. Head, body, and fore wings are pale yellow sand. A sloping sand brown line begins near the apex and extends to the wing inner edge. It runs almost parallel to the outer edge. The slanted, incomplete inner transverse line is only weakly indicated. To include drawing nor a double scale Diskalfleck and some tiny dark spots that are on the wing veins in front of the outer line. The fringe scales are one color, only between the core ends they have at the base of some small dark spots. The hind wings shining yellowish white. The undersides of the forewings are darker than the hind wings. They are yellowish brown mixed, have a striking Diskalfleck, a dark outer line and a fine dark hemline. The hind wing underside is whitish yellow and has a thin orange-brown hemline. The fringe scales are one color.

In the male the uncus is narrow spatulate and obtuse apex. The Gnathos is dagger- shaped and fitted at the top with six small teeth. The Valven are wide and slightly bent. You are thickened at the base and have a rounded apex. The flared base is an implied saccule. The clamp member ( Clasper ) is missing. The phallus is provided with two elongated Cornuti groups, which are located on a scaly band. In addition, he has a pair of spiky, brush-like areas.

The genital armature of the female is unknown.

Dissemination

Evergestis nomadalis has been in Greece ( Lakonia, Parnon Mountains ), Russia ( in the north of the Caucasus, Karatschajewsk ) Turkey ( Erzurum province ), Central Asia ( Kuldja and Eastern Turkestan ) and detected in Iran.

Biology

The preimaginal stages are unknown. The moths fly in late summer.
