Everyone else is a German film from 2009 by director Maren Ade. The relationship drama with Birgit Minichmayr and Lars Eidinger in the lead roles was premiered at the Berlinale in 2009 where it won the Grand Jury Prize. Birgit Minichmayr was awarded the Silver Bear for Best Actress.

Action

Gitti and Chris come to spend their holidays together in Sardinia at the home of Chris' parents getting back into the hair. Despite these petty squabbles they had until now always a happy couple and could also have good times together. But then meets the odd couple in Sana and Hans, Chris has known for his architectural studies. The others from the perfect couple; behind a modern facade hiding a clear division of roles. That impresses Gitti and Chris. Chris is now trying to take on the powerful role in the relationship and it is fully on. Gitti is baffled by this new side of her friend, but tries to fit his expectations.

Background

The shooting took place in Sardinia in late summer 2007. The German theatrical release took place on 18 June 2009, around 190,000 cinema-goers saw the film in Germany.
