Formation

George Michael wrote the song based on the drum tracks. With the help of a synthesizer he took on an evening in the studio on the backing tracks. Back at his hotel, he wrote the lyrics the next morning. Because of this atypical for Michael approach the song for him did not come as a single release in question. The lyrics are about a man whose marriage there is a crisis, until he learns that he is father. So he has to work hard to support his family, and sees himself as trapped in a kind of trap. George Michael described the text as atypical for Wham!, As the songs of the band usually treated typical of the pop lightweight threads.
