EViews

EViews (short for " Econometric Views" ) is a commercial Windows-based econometric software of the U.S. company IHS. The first Microsoft Windows-based version was realized by Quantitative Micro Software (QMS ) in 1994. Precursor product was the software MicroTSP. EViews finds widespread application in research, teaching, administration, banking, insurance and energy providers.

Areas of application

The software has its main application in the processing of time series. All the major methods of time series analysis of simple AR, MA, ARMA, ARIMA about, ARIMAX, ARCH, GARCH, to state-space models and state space models are feasible. Both cross sections and longitudinal data can be presented descriptively and analytically. EViews dominated general econometric and statistical analysis, the generation of predictions and model simulations, and the issue of graphs and tables, eg Publications. EViews allows data organization including database access.

Alternatives to the commercial products are EViews, Stata, SAS, RATS or WinRATS and Limdep. For alternative free software include GNU R and gretl.
