Evile

Evile are an English heavy metal band that was founded in Huddersfield in 2004.

History

Originally founded as a cover band by school friends Matt Drake and Ben Carter, they asked shortly after Matt's brother Ol to occupy the position on lead guitar. After a short search for a bass player, they were called by Mike Alexander, and the occupation was complete.

After the band had recorded two self-released EPs All Hallows Eve and Hell, completed a small tour in Europe in 2006 and played in the interlude of Exodus, Evile were taken by Earache Records. They recorded their debut album, Enter the Grave at Sweet Silence Studio in Copenhagen with producer Flemming Rasmussen ( Metallica, Morbid Angel, Blind Guardian ).

In 2008, she played as the opening act of the group Megadeth on their United Abominations Tour of Duty in Europe in 2008. In September 2009 they released their second album, Infected Nations.

As of October 2, 2009 Evile accompanied the Swedish band Amon Amarth to open their autumn tour. After a few appearances ill bassist Mike Alexander and was taken to hospital from Luleå, where he died of a pulmonary embolism on 5 October 2009 at the age of 32 years. The remaining members broke the tour from then.

On 16 December 2009 was officially announced that a new bassist was found with Joel Graham ( Rise To Addiction ). A tour with Warbringer and The Fading followed in the spring of 2010. Moreover, they played at various European festivals, such as Wacken Open Air, Bloodstock Open Air and Hellfest. Currently they are working on new songs for a future album.

In the summer of 2013 guitarist Ol Drake announced his departure. He said he would now spend more time on his private life and start a family.
