Evoke (demo party)

The Evoke is with about 400 visitors a demo of the biggest parties in Germany. It takes place regularly since 1997 in and around Cologne and is Germany's oldest existing demo party. Now she is paid from the Digital Culture eV.

The Evoke attracts many international visitors. In 2004, the Evoke was first supported by the Culture Department of the City of Cologne. This support was continued in 2006 and 2009.

As one of the first parties Evoke began each year to specify a specific theme under which the event takes place. The location, the procedure and the program is aligned to this topic ( 2003: " Zoo3 ", 2004: "digital playground", 2005: " demoscene space odyssey ", 2006: " Station ", 2007: " 10 years", 2008: "the party continues" ).

2004 Evoke an interface after was "outside" extended by the Evoke Netlabel Night, in which a variety of netlabels presented live to the audience. The parallel event additional event was aimed explicitly to persons that are not associated with the demoscene. This kind of event was recorded by Evoke tracks again in 2007 and 2008.

From 2004, participants must certify that they are not members of a collecting society GEMA and how BIEM.
