Evolva

Evolva is a computer game computer artwork. It was released on 1 April 2000. The aim of the game is to exempt the universe of parasites. The game can be played in both single player mode and in multiplayer mode (LAN, Internet). The website of Evolva was closed a few years ago, as the game is out of date.

Game play

Evolva let the players control one of four companies operating in the team Genohuntern. The player steered his character over the surface of an alien planet and had to run shooter typical jobs, what course countless enemy creatures tried to stop him. This had to fight the player with his AI-controlled counterparts.

Now the outstanding aspect of the game occurred: After a certain number of enemies killed, the player could perform genetic manipulations to his fighters to improve their properties. The changes designed according to the type and number of killed enemies differently. For example, if a high number of fire-breathing beetles had been killed, the Genohunter could also gain the ability to fire breathing through genetic manipulation. The changes in the figures were imaged effectively by a morphing - capable graphics engine.

Genohunter and their properties

There are four " Genohunter ":

• Agilo: maneuverability and agile.
• Speed: fast and therefore suitable for diversion.
• Sumo: Does the brute force of a wrecking ball.
• Intello: Light, fast, and accurate.

Censoring

In the German version the blood was censored by being colored green. The versions of foreign countries have red blood. With a registry patch the blood color can be changed to red, green or brown. Evolva has received in Germany, the USK 16 seal. In USA the stage "Mature" was divided.

Advertising text

The advertising for the game showed a Genohunter with a very deformed head. This picture was captioned with a quote of the German Bundestag from 1989: "We will not allow laws that allow the genetic manipulation of the people. "
