Evosmos (Greek Εύοσμος ( m. sg ); alternative name. Kordelio Neo ) is a city in the Greek region Central Macedonia.

Evosmos was originally called Neos Koukloutzas ( Νέος Κουκλουτζᾶς ). Under this name it passed in 1926 to rural community Harmanköy ( gr Charmankioi Χαρμάνκιοϊ, 1927 renamed Stathmos Σταθμός ), 1934 to the municipality Kordelio ( Κορδελιό ). In 1955 it was renamed the settlement in Evosmos (Eng. about, fragrance '), at the same time became the seat of the rural community that henceforth also called Evosmos and under this name in 1972 to the municipality ( dimos ) was charged. With the administrative reform of 2010 Dimos Evosmos was united with the neighboring community Eleftherio - Kordelio for new community - Kordelio Evosmos whose seat it makes since.

Evosmos is located in the north-west of the metropolitan area of Thessaloniki. For area Evosmos ' owns half of the settlement area or neighborhood Ilioupoli. The other half belongs to the municipality Pavlos Melas.

1821, shortly before the start of the Greek Revolution, a church was built on the present territory of Evosmos, which is dedicated to Saint Athanasios and also in the present still exists. 1922 to 1923 the population of Evosmos rose for the first time significantly due to the influx of Greeks from Asia Minor under the Treaty of Lausanne (1923 ) after the Greek defeat in the Greco- Turkish War ( 1919-1923 ) agreed " population exchange ".

In the city of Evosmos there are three churches: Agios Athanasios ( oldest from 1821 ), Evangelismos and tris Ierarches ( new building). Evosmos has a public cinema and a cultural center. In the northern part Nea Kifissia of Evosmos is the community sports center, in the 2003 round games of the basketball world championship of juniors were held. The local football club plays in the second Agrotikos Asteras Greek football league.
