Evžen Hadamczik

Evžen Hadamczik [ ɛvʒɛn hadamtʃɪk ] ( born October 28, 1939 in Dolni Benešov, † September 19, 1984 in Ostrava ) was a Czech football player and coach. With Banik Ostrava he was in 1980 and 1981 Czechoslovak champion.

Player

Evžen Hadamczik played in his youth for Spartak Dolni Benesov and Sokol Kravař. His military service, he graduated at Dukla Cheb. After an injury he had to end his career at an age of 22 and became a coach.

Coach

His first stop was 1963-1970 Spartak Dolni Benešov, which he led in the fourth league. From 1970 to 1977 he worked at Ostroj Opava, with whom he reached the second division.

Early 1978, took over as coach at Hadamczik Banik Ostrava. He saved the team from relegation and won her the Czechoslovak Cup. In the following season BANIK penetrated to the semifinals of the European Cup Winners' Cup and became Czechoslovak runner-up. The team also won the Czech Cup. Over the next two seasons Ostrava was national champion in each case. 1980/81 managed the leap into the quarter-finals of the European Cup. 1981/82 and 1982/83 Banik Ostrava each runner. Nevertheless Hadamczik was replaced by Stanislav Jarábek. Previously, he had received an offer from Rapid Vienna, but there was no release.

From 1982 to 1984 Hadamczik charge of the Czechoslovak Olympic team, he was also responsible for the national team in a game. On August 23, 1984, the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was defeated in the Erfurt Steigerwaldstadion the GDR with 1:2.

Death

Evžen Hadamczik hanged himself on September 19, 1984 in his garage in Ostrava.

Each year, the FC Banik Ostrava, an international youth tournament in indoor soccer, the Memoriál Evžena Hadamczika.

Evžens brother Alois Hadamczik is hockey coach since 2010 and among other things, responsible for the Czech national ice hockey team.
