Ewa Wiśniewska

Ewa Wiśniewska ( born April 25, 1942 in Warsaw) is a Polish actress.

Life

Wiśniewska won as a 15 -year-old beauty competition of the magazine film and had her first acting experience with short appearances in the films The Channel ( 1957) by Andrzej Wajda Andrzej Munk and in the cross-eyed happiness (1959). In 1963 she obtained a Master's degree at the State Theatre School ( PWST ) in Warsaw and played in the following years to the capital theaters Teatr Ludowy, Teatr Nowy Teatr and Kwadrat and won awards at various theater festivals.

Her first major film role was in 1963 in Janusz Nasfeters thriller The murderer and the girl. In the 1960s and 1970s, she took numerous roles in television comedies and dramas. She performed in several, even on German television on broadcast television series, including seconds to decide (1967 /68) and Janosik, hero of the Mountains (1973). Since the 1980s her regularly demanding roles were transferred in movies. The most popular are Tadeusz Konwickis Literaturverfilmung Dolina Issy (1982 ) by Czeslaw Milosz and the title role in Ryszard Cudzoziemka Bers (1986 ) for which she won the award for Best Actress at the National Polish Film Festival in Gdansk. In 2000, she was honored for her role in Jerzy Hoffman's With Fire and Sword for best supporting actress.

Wiśniewska were also awarded several state awards, including the Silver Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 1979.
