Ewald Kleisinger

Ewald Kleisinger ( born June 11, 1912 in Vienna, † March 25, 2000 ibid ) was from 1966 an Austrian Righteous Among the Nations.

He served after the occupation of Poland as a Wehrmacht officer at the railway station in Warsaw. He lived in the house of his future wife Danuta Kleisinger, born Czlapinska, in the Krozegasse 41 in the "Aryan" district of the city. Born in Poland Jew Jusek Prezman was in 1942 with his mother notes in the ghetto of Warsaw. The mother of Danuta was before the war a friend of bills Prezman, Jusek a friend Danuta.

After the establishment of the ghetto Danuta smuggled food and money for the Prezman family in the ghetto and thus endangered their lives. Before the Ghetto Uprising and its destruction in April 1943 fled Jusek Prezman and his friend Josef Kormarzyn with Danuta's in the "Aryan" side of town. Danuta hid them with the knowledge and consent of her fiancé, the officer Ewald Kleisinger, three weeks in her apartment. They also rescued the mother Juseks, certificates Prezman.

Danuta was active in the Polish underground. With their help she provided Jusek Prezman and his friend Josef Kormazyn fake papers. Ewald Kleisinger brought them permission slips so that they could go as a Polish farm workers to Vienna.

Kleisinger they had disguised as Polish Christian foreign workers to his living in Vienna parents. They took Prezman and Kormarzyn on how family members and helped them with money, food and clothing until the war ended.

Ewald Kleisinger was a doctor of law. He was buried on Ober Sankt Veit cemetery.
