Ewald Riebschläger

Ewald Riebschläger ( born October 24, 1904 in Zeitz, † 1993) was a German diver.

Riebschläger, the, the club of his birthplace launched for the SV Zeitz, reached the 6th Place and in the 10-meter platform diving 5th place in the Olympic Summer Games in 1928 in Amsterdam in the art of jumping from the 3- meter board. Previously, he was already 1927 European champion in springboard diving from the 3- meter springboard and platform diving won the silver medal.

In 1930 he was German by 3- meter board in springboard diving champion. From 1931 to 1933 he won three times in a row, the German championships in platform diving. Also in 1931 he was again European champion in springboard diving from the 3- meter springboard and platform diving won the bronze medal. Three years later he won again bronze medal in platform diving.

Riebschläger ended his active career, 1934. Overall, he reached in his career 150 medal achievements, trophies and special prizes. At the age of 50, he still participated in show jumping. Ewald Riebschläger worked as an independent electrician champion in his home town of Zeitz. In Zeitz Sommerbad since 2004, is a memorial plaque in honor of Ewald Riebschläger.
