Exact science

The exact sciences or hard sciences include those sciences which are able to make accurate quantitative or mathematical or formal logic precise statements and have their own strict methods for testing hypotheses, especially reproducible experiments with quantifiable measurements. From the formal sciences are logic, mathematics and computer science as well as parts of the observed from the natural sciences of physics, chemistry and biology as part of the exact sciences in this sense.

Are offset by the soft sciences such as literature, science and education.
