Exaile is a free graphical tool for playing and organizing music, which is under the GPL. Exaile is similar in structure to the very popular KDE program Amarok 1.4, but built on GTK . The program is currently available for Linux, an installation on Microsoft Windows, however, thanks to GStreamer, also possible. A port to the Nokia N800 is available.

The first stable version of the program was published in September 2006, then as version 0.2. The program is written in Python using the PyGTK library. As an audio backend is used - even on Windows - GStreamer.

In August 2009, Exaile 0.3.0 was released. This version of Exaile was completely reprogrammed to facilitate the development of the program in the future.
