Exaplatanos (Greek Εξαπλάτανος ( m. sg. ) ) Is a small city that has a separate parish was formed in 2010 in the Greek prefecture of Pella. 2010 it was merged with the neighboring community Aridea the new community Almopia, has since formed a township in the Exaplatanos.

Exaplatanos is delimited by the Vora massif from the territory of Macedonia in the north. The highest elevations in the area of the municipality are the Tzena (Greek Τζένα, 2,182 m) and northwest of the Pinovo (Greek Πίνοβο, 2,154 m). To the east of up to 1,400 m high Paiko (Greek Πάικο ) Exaplatanos separates from the communities Peonia. With the southwest area, the municipality share of the eastern basin of Almopia, which is formed by the river Moglenitsas and its inlets. The Moglenitsas forms the boundary to the westerly district Aridea, in the south are the municipalities Skydra and Pella.

The town was founded in 1918 under the name Kapiniani ( gr Καπίνιανη ) recognized as a country church ( kinotita ) and renamed in 1922 in Exaplatanos. 1997 Exaplatanos was elevated to municipality ( dimos ) and considerably enlarged by numerous incorporations of surrounding villages.

The place is known for its agricultural products and its livestock. The municipal district includes the site Archangelos.
