Excelsior Diamond

With 995.20 carat diamond Excelsior is so far the second largest natural diamond.

He was found on June 30, 1893 in the Jagersfontein Mine in South Africa. He was divided from Amsterdam grinder J. Asscher in 22 stones, the largest weighs 373.75 carats and is now owned by Robert Mouawad (Paris). The other stones are between 69.68 and almost one carat in size.
