Exchequer of Pleas

The Court of Exchequer is a former court in England and Wales.

History

The court of Exchequer became the time of Henry I. of the Curia Regis, the Scaccarium Regis ( Exchequer ), which was for a tax authority decided on the other hand all the tax law related legal issues. Gradually took over the Curia Regis and the case law between the tax-paying landowners. Its composition of three professional judges and his duties remained from 1300 until the 17th century quite the same. In addition to the Court of Exchequer existed, the Court of Common Pleas, who was responsible for "simple " actions of individuals and the Court of King 's Bench, which decided political disputes. 1873 was transferred to the Court of Exchequer to the Exchequer Division of the High Court.
