Exe Valley Railway

The Exe Valley Railway was a British railway company in Devon in England.

On June 30, 1874, the Company was incorporated to build a railway from Tiverton after Thorverton along the Exe. From Thorverton a connection was planned to route the Bristol and Exeter Railway ( B & ER) in Stoke Canon. In 1875 the B & ER was given the right to take over the company. However, this was not realized until the following year by the Great Western Railway, which had in the meantime acquired the B & ER. The GWR opened exported in the normal lane 12 -kilometer route on 1 May 1885.
