The Executive Agency for Health and Consumers ( EAHC, English Executive Agency for Health and Consumers ) is one of the executive agencies of the European Union. These take under the EU agencies a special position. They are set up by the European Commission and are responsible for the management of certain programs. They are not set up on a permanent basis, but only for a limited period and rank pari passu of a Directorate General of the European Commission. The stock EAHC is limited to the period up to 2015. They must also be in contrast to the other EU agencies in Brussels or Luxembourg, settled. EAHC has its headquarters in Luxembourg and reports to the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers.

The legal basis for this executive agency is the one the EU Council Regulation 58/2003 of 19 December 2002 and the Commission ( 2008/544/EC ) Decision of 20 June 2008.

The later EAHC was originally, in 2005, founded under the name Executive Agency for the Public Health Programme ( PHEA ). On 20 June 2008, the agency was renamed and their goals and objectives have been redefined. The mandate of the EAHC currently includes in particular the implementation

  • The health program,
  • The Consumer Programme and
  • The initiative " Better Training for Safer Food ".
