Exidy

Exidy was an American manufacturer of arcade video game machines from Sunnyvale, California, who was one of the largest suppliers in the years 1974 to 1983 in this market. The company was founded by H.R. " Pete " Kaufman. The company name (company) Exidy was a composite of the words " Excellence in Dynamics ".

Well-known games of the company were Exidy Circus, Crash, Death Race, Starfire, Venture, Pepper II, Mouse Trap, Targ, and Spectar. The game Starfire had a supporting role in the feature film madness hunting at midnight also. Many Exidy games can today on the PC emulator MAME be played back.

Death Race (1976 ) was the first controversial video game, since one virtual pedestrians must cross over in this game.

Exidy developed in 1978 the home computer Exidy Sorcerer.

In 1985 there was the first Vertigo with proprietary arcade simulation game.

2006 Mean Hamster Software, acquired the naming rights for new games under the label Exidy.
