Exl-Bühne

The Exl- stage was a Tyrolean theater group that gained with a performance of folk and peasant pieces both in Austria and abroad notoriety. It was founded in 1902 by Ferdinand Exl as a "First Tyrolean game company " in today's Innsbruck Wilten. Later, the stage moved to another location in Innsbruck. In Vienna, Exl- stage played in the Prater Road 25, the later Viennese Art Theatre.

The Exl- stage was before connecting the venue for political and propaganda rallies and participated in 1938 at Hitler's referendum in a promotional call " artists are committed to return to the Reich ."

The ensemble consisted mainly of family members Ferdinand EXLS and the Auer family ( Ludwig, Leonard and Mimi Gstötter -Auer ), but also from other Tyrolean actors like Edward Köck. The probably first film appearance graduated members of Exl- stage in 1914 at the monumental production " Speckbacherstraße " by French director Pierre Paul Gilman, which was about the liberation struggle of the Tyrol against Napoleon. Self ensemble members found in 1944 in the Vienna Film Production " Uli and Marei ," one of the few playing in the peasant milieu films. The last director of the stage, Ilse Exl, also took over the lead female role of " Marei ". 1947 was followed by appearances in the film produced by the Tirol Innsbruck tragicomedy "Earth" by Karl Schönherr under the direction of Leopold Hainisch.

The group was headed until 1941 by Ferdinand Exl itself, after his wife Anna Exl and last of their daughter Ilse. 1955, the stage was closed.
