Exodermis

The exodermis (composed of the Greek words, Greek exo outside, dermis of derma: skin, sclera ) is the secondary dermal tissue of the root. It is formed from the hypodermis, corked and replaced the rhizodermis whose root hairs have a limited life. With the hair cells of the rhizodermis die, and often equipped with the very first suberin lamellae Wall exodermis takes over the function of the final fabric. Here the zone of root branching begins.
