Expedition 26

ISS Expedition 26 mission is the designation for the 26 long-term crew of the International Space Station ( ISS). The mission began on 26 November 2010 at 1:23 UTC with the uncoupling of the spaceship Soyuz TMA- 19 from the ISS. The end was marked by the uncoupling of Soyuz TMA -01M on 16 March 2011 4:27 UTC.

  • Catherine Grace Coleman ( third space flight), flight engineer (USA / NASA) ( Soyuz TMA -20)
  • Paolo Nespoli ( second space flight), flight engineer (Italy / ESA ) ( Soyuz TMA -20)

After the departure of Kelly, Kaleri and Skripotschka Kondratyev took command and formed with Coleman and Nespoli the initial crew of the ISS Expedition 27

Backup crew

The backup crew of ISS Expedition recruited from the backup crews of the Soyuz shuttle respective spaceships ( see there). If everything is going according to plan, these teams two Soyuz missions and thus two ISS expeditions are then usually later for regular use.

Mission History

On January 21, 2011 Dmitri Kondratyev and Oleg Skripotschka completed a spacewalk in Orlan -MK spacesuits, in which they, the high-speed transmission system (100 MByte / s for Earth ) ready set on the Zvezda module, the Rassvet module a camera installed and the material Experiment Expose -R and the precipitated plasma pulse generator for Ionosphärenuntersuchung deconstructions. The mission lasted 5 hours and 23 minutes.
