Expo 2017

The World Expo 2017 will be held in the summer of 2017 in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan. It is recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions ( BIE), the joint international commission to design and tendering of world exhibitions.

It is the first time that a World's Fair will be held in Kazakhstan.

Bidding

Kazakhstan declared its readiness to align the EXPO 2017 in Astana, on the 147th General Assembly of the BIE on July 1, 2010 in Paris. Other interested in an alignment countries had then given six months to also declare their candidacy. This option used only Liege in Belgium. The decision in favor of Astana hit the BIE on November 22, 2012 in Paris.

Topic

The theme for Expo 2017 Future Energy was: Action for Global Sustainability ( Energy for the Future: Measures for global sustainability) selected. The sufficient and secure supply should be addressed with energy in developing countries as well as the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. On the topic of " energy of the future " if it were the " greatest challenge facing humanity today."

Visitor

The Organizing Committee in Astana expects 5 million visitors to the EXPO 2017. Hitherto planned promise visitors an impressive fiction of the future lifestyle of the people on earth are divided into five subject areas. Here, the entire EXPO center is conceived in terms of sustainability.

Infrastructure

This provided for the EXPO 2017 site is located in the southeastern part of since 1998, the new government district of Astana and has a size of 113 hectares, conveniently located on the inner ring road.
