Expo.02

The Expo 02 was the 6th Swiss national exhibition and was held from 15 May to 20 October 2002 Three -Lakes Region. The exhibition consisted mainly of five " Arteplage " said exhibition facilities, which were built on the lake shores of the cities of Biel / Bienne, Murten, Neuchâtel and Yverdon- les- Bains exclusively for the duration of the exposure; the fifth Arteplage was a converted gravel barge, " Arte Plage du Jura mobile » called, between the remaining Arteplages wrong. Murten

Motto: moment and eternity; Canton: Fribourg

The exhibitions in Murten were distributed over a large part of the historic city. Among the most impressive installations included the temporary " Garden of Violence " by Vogt Landscape Architects from Zurich, who presented the issue of global violence in a landscape architectural and artistic installation in an intelligent manner. The Arteplage itself was located on the shore of Lake Murten, the largest building was a walk- monolith of architect Jean Nouvel of 34 meters each side, inside which two panoramic images were seen.

Neuchâtel

Yverdon- les- Bains

Facts about Expo 02

As part of the Expo 02, the infrastructure of the Three Lakes Region experienced some tweaking. History of Expo 02
