ExpressJet Holdings, Inc. is an American regional airline based in Houston, operates its fleet mainly in the name and on behalf of other major airlines.

History

ExpressJet was founded in 1986 and in 1987 took the flight operations. The origin were some small feeder companies such as Bar Harbor Airlines, Provinceton - Boston Airlines, Rocky Mountain Air, Britt Air, Houston's Royale Airways, Denver 's Pioneer and Honolulu Mid Pacific Air, which were gradually bought up by Continental Airlines and under the name of Continental Express as a feeder to the hubs of Continental flew. ExpressJet flew originally under license by Britt Airways.

In April 2002, ExpressJet went under the name of ExpressJet Holdings, Inc. in the stock market and became an independent company. The holding company owns the company American Composites LLC, Saltillo Jet Center, and InTech Aerospace Services. As ExpressJet Services, LLC maintenance, repair and overhaul services for various types of aircraft are available.

When in December 2005 Continental would greatly reduce its Continental Express services, the airline decided to fly under their own. December 31, 2006 ExpressJet began with six machines to fly charter. In April 2007, the offer to 24 cities on the West Coast, expands in southwestern and midwestern United States.

In July 2008, ExpressJet announced the suspension of all known airlines in-house September 2, 2008. The agreement with Delta Airlines has also been terminated. The aircraft used for this purpose will be returned to the lessor. In the future, one would fly only for Continental Airlines as Continental Express with a fleet of 205 aircraft and drive 150 goals. For charter flights ExpressJet Corporate Charter held 30 machines ready.

On October 1, 2010, UAL Corporation and Continental Airlines merged to form United Continental Holdings. The merger was also the regional partner of Continental Airlines, Continental Connection, United Express partner. This ExpressJet is now a partner of United Express.

In November 2010, Atlantic Southeast Airlines took over all the shares of the company. On 1 January 2012, the two companies merged under the umbrella of ExpressJet.

Destinations

ExpressJet connects in wetlease as United Express for United Airlines and the Delta Connection for Delta Air Lines flights to numerous destinations within the United States with regional and commuter flights.
