The Droga ekspresowa S11 (Polish for, expressway S11 ' ) is completed partly, mostly planned expressway between Koszalin and Pyrzowice. It will be about 560 km long and run through four provinces. She follows in much of the country road 11 and connects the Upper Silesian industrial district with the Baltic Sea.

Planning history

Poznań- Polnoc - Poznań- Rokietnica

This section lists as part of the western bypass of Poznań (also known as stage 2a denotes ) over a length of 7.7 kilometers from Poznań- Polnoc node to node Poznań- Rokietnica. It is equipped with two lanes per carriageway. The construction of this section began on 14 April 2010 with the signing of the contract between the GDDKiA and the company Colas Polska Sp z oo and Strabag. The construction costs were set at 332 million zlotys. The construction period should be 24 months. Accordingly, the completion was scheduled for May 2012 and before the 2012 European Football Championship. However, construction delays entered, so that the construction work was extended until September 30. On October 30, the section was the traffic that was limited to vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes passed.

Poznań- Tarnovo Podgórne - Poznań- Zachód

As part of the western bypass of Poznań, this section connects the provincial road 92 via the node Poznań- Tarnovo Podgórne with the airport Lawica on the same node as well as with the A2 motorway and the future expressway S5 via the node Poznań- Zachód. The section has a length of 14.4 kilometers, with two lanes per carriageway.

The construction contract with the construction company Skanska SA as a leader and Intercor Sp z o.o. as partners was signed on 17 July 2009. It was agreed a 24 -month construction period, which officially began on July 23. Completion should therefore be made in July 2011. However, there were delays, so that the first section of 8.3 km between nodes Poznań- Poznań- Dąbrówka Tarnovo Podgórne and was opened on 28 November 2011.
