In the southern course from the node, Rzeszów - Południe to the border of Slovakia they will be a part of the European Route 371.

Planning history

In the network of Poland from 1939, the route Bialystok - Grodno was as part of the line Warsaw - provided Daugavpils - Vilnius. The connection Bialystok - Lublin - Košice was totally absent. The plans of 1945 and 1946 still contain the section of Białystok Vilnius direction and a distance that should be maintained by Warszawa on Radom to Kosice. On the other hand still lacked a direct connection from Białystok Lublin on to Kosice. Also in the plan of 1963, it remained in this project, the route Warsaw - Radom was now provided only to continue to Rzeszow. Finally, in 1971 were also related to the route Bialystok towards Vilnius and Moscow respectively, so that in this network, a single section of today's S19 route was not included. Only at the junction Warsaw - Radom - Rzeszów was recorded. For the first time in 1976 appeared in the plans on a route that is planned today S19 connection between Białystok, Lublin, Rzeszów and the border very similar and should be continued to Budapest. In contrast, the portion of Białystok lacked direction in Vilnius. Since 1985 is found in the network plans ( 1993, 1996, 2001, 2003, 2004) the route in its present form unchanged.
