The Droga ekspresowa S2 ( ger. for, expressway S2 ') is completed partly or largely planned expressway in Poland. It is also called southern bypass of Warsaw ( Południowa Obwodnica Warszawy ). It is the A2 motorway connecting in the future between the motorway junction Warszawa - Konotopa Warszawa - Lubelska. The expressway S2 will be a part of the European Route 30 and is expected to 2019Vorlage year: to be completed tomorrow / in 5 years.

Planning history

Already in the 1970s, a southern bypass of Warsaw was planned. This, however, was planned as a motorway and should be a part of the Autostrada A2. After several protests by the affected population of Warsaw and Ursynóws the government decided to implement the southern bypass of Warsaw as a freeway in 2004. The course of the planned route was not changed.
