Expressways of Beijing

Beijing is the most important transport hub in China. In particular, the rapidly growing automobile traffic requires huge investments. The motorway network in Beijing is growing without interruption after Beijing was joined by the Jingshi highway with Shijiazhuang in 1991. There are now direct motorway links to Badaling, Chengde, Tongzhou District, Harbin, Shenyang, Tianjin and Kaifeng.

Geographically, there are slightly more than half of all the highways of the motorway network in the eastern district. Due to the difficult geographical terrain, there are no highway in the west, but in the northwest and southwest.

The motorway network in Beijing has been greatly expanded in recent years: Two other highways in the direction Tianjin were built ( the transport corridor Beijing -Tianjin is very important for the economy ), a direct connection to the east of Beijing ( Pinggu District ) has also been built and the 7th ring road (which will form the new and probably final border the city of Beijing ) will soon be built. Up to three additional highways will be built in the area of the newly updated airport (north connecting line, second airport highway and Litian - highway).

The Chinese highway system is usually equipped with speed limits (often 110-120 miles per hour). This usually lasts for less traffic congestion, the situation is similar to the procedure in the United States.

The construction of a highway follows in a general plan, and at the request and approval by the government. It is basically built on a " highway construction by borrowing ", so it is always here to toll motorways. Even the sixth ring road in Beijing is a charge (although it is one of the inner-city ring roads).
