Exquisite corpse

Cadavre Exquis ( German: exquisite corpse or delicious ) means an application developed in Surrealism playful way to make room for coincidence in the development of text and images.

Definition of André Breton:

Breton further stresses that one Concerning operative with the exquisite corpse on an infallible means to turn off the critical thinking and the metaphorical ability of the mind to give free rein.

The process works like this: They agree to a fixed rate scheme, eg Subject ( article, adjective / attribute and noun) - predicate - adverbial determination - object (article, adjective and noun). Each (r ) is given a slip of paper and then write a sentence beginning ( eg articles and adjective), the paper bends so in order that the writing is hidden, and passes on the note. In the following round writes each (r ) a word from the next category agreed ( in the given example: a noun), the note bends around and passes it on. The process is repeated until the set is finished; possibly containing small grammatical adjustments must be made.

Transferred to drawings: Several people draw a body; the first, for example, the head, the second upper body and arms, the abdomen, the third, the fourth, the legs, the feet, the last. So that no one sees what the other is doing, after drawing each the paper is folded, only the projections for the next section are visible. If the finished picture spread, as a surreal, bizarre body image, a kind of collective collage appears.

The Cadavre Exquis was presented in October 1927 in the Surrealistenzeitschrift La Révolution surréaliste.
