Genesis

After completion of the North American tour in December 1974 George Harrison composed songs for his latest album, which should appear on the Apple label. Extra Texture ( Read All About It) was then taken from April to June 1975. The original recordings were made by You in February 1971; the title was originally intended for Ronnie Spector. A Bit More of You is just a short instrumental repetition of You. The basis for the text of The Answer 's at the End was influenced by an inscription in a wall in George Harrison's house, the builder of the estate of Sir Frankie Crisp, came. This Guitar ( Can not Keep from Crying ) is the musical episode of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Ooh Baby ( You Know That I Love You) is a musical tribute to Smokey Robinson, another tribute was followed later on the album Thirty Three & 1/3 with the song Pure Smokey. The song His Name Is Legs (Ladies and Gentlemen ) Harrison wrote for " Legs" Larry Smith ( Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band), with whom he was friends. Tired of Midnight Blue was inspired by a visit to a nightclub in Los Angeles. Grey Cloudy Lies was written during the separation phase of his then- wife Pattie Harrison. Can not Stop Thinking About You is a love song.

More information

On the inside cover is OHNOTHIMAGEN what for Oh not him again ( " Not him again ") stands. A humorous reference to his frequent guest appearances on other artists. Another Harrison humor is on the label ( a abgekauter apple, an allusion to the expiring contract with Apple Records), as well as the mention of eight artists / friends in the back cover, all of which have not been involved in the album.
