Eygurande

Eygurande ( Eiguranda in Occitan ) is a commune with 692 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The church is the seat of the municipal association Pays d' Eygurande.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin, near the Chavanon, a tributary of the Dordogne.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 85 kilometers south-west, about 20 kilometers southwest Ussel and Clermont- Ferrand approximately 65 kilometers north-east.

Neighboring communities of Eygurande are Saint- Merd la Breuille in the north, Feyt in the northeast and east, Monestier- Merlines the southeast, Merlines in the south, Aix in the southwest, Lamazière -Haute in the west and Saint- Oradoux -de- Chirouze in the northwest.

Traffic

The place is situated about twelve kilometers north-east of junction 24 of the A89 autoroute. About three kilometers from the railway station Gare d' Eygurande - Merlines Merlines in the community is connected to the rail network SNCF.

Coat of arms

Description: The coat of arms is quartered, one field shows three red diagonally right, golden beams, box two to three gold pressed, black chevrons, three field points to red five-pointed star and three gold field in four to silver a red lion. A red and gold checkerboard pattern split shield is on (indicating the house Ventadour ).
