Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson

Eythor Ingi Gunnlaugsson (* May 29, 1989 in Dalvik ) is an Icelandic pop singer.

Life

At 15, he played in the hit musical Oliver! in Akureyri. Other roles followed before 2008, the television talent show Bandid hans Bubba won and from then on worked as a professional musician.

He sat down with the title Ég á LIF ( I have a life ) in the final of the Icelandic preliminary show Söngvakeppnin against six competitors by and represented Iceland at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö. The song landed after winning the preliminary show at number one on the Icelandic charts. For the ESC final in Malmo Eythor reached the 17th place. It was after Paul Oscar in 1997 the first party of his country, who sang his song again in Icelandic. Since the Euro Vision Song Contest 1999, a country no longer needs to compete in his own language.

He is married to Soffía Ósk Guðmundsdóttir; the couple has three children.
