Eyrean Grasswren
The Eyregrasschlüpfer ( Amytornis goyderi ) is a bird of the family of the Australian singer.
Description
The 14 -centimeter-tall bird has a brown, provided with white stripes back and head plumage. The tail is dark brown to black. The beak and legs are gray. In addition, the bird has several black stripe under the eye. The birds have small atrophied wings with which they can only fly poorly.
Dissemination and lifestyle
This kind only comes around Lake Eyre before in the Simpson Desert, South Australia. She lives there, overgrown with dense spinifex sand dunes. For food the birds are mainly smaller insects and plant seeds.
Reproduction
The spherical, flattened at the top nest, composed of intertwined grasses. The exact number of eggs, probably up to four pieces, as well as the exact hatching and nestling period are not known.
Endangering
Threat to the birds include, inter alia, feral cats that destroy the breeding of birds. The IUCN classifies this type due to their widespread use as an area not threatened (Least Concern ).
