Ezekiel Cornell

Ezekiel Cornell (* 1732 in Scituate, Providence County, Rhode Iceland, † April 25, 1800 in Milford, Massachusetts ) was an American politician, who participated as a delegate from Rhode Iceland at the Continental Congress.

After he had in his home attended the public schools, beat Ezekiel Cornell a career as a mechanic one. After the outbreak of the American Revolution, he joined the later rising in the Continental Army militia of Rhode Iceland and Lieutenant Colonel was in led by Colonel Daniel Hitchcock regiment. Among other things he was involved in the siege of Boston.

As of October 1, 1776 Cornell served as Deputy Commander in Chief ( Deputy Adjutant General ) of the armed forces of his home state. Also still in 1776, he was appointed brigadier general. After he retired from the military service on 16 March 1780, he took in the same year appointment as Delegate to the Continental Congress at which met at this time in Philadelphia. Cornell exercised this mandate from to 1782, before he returned to his farm in Scituate.
