Ezio Pascutti

Ezio Pascutti ( born June 1, 1937 in Mortegliano ) is a former Italian football player and coach. He spent his entire professional career with FC Bologna, for whom he scored 130 goals in 296 Serie A games.

Association

Ezio Pascutti began his career in 1955 at the Italian first division club FC Bologna, where he remained faithful throughout his professional career. In 336 official matches, he scored 142 goals for FC Bologna and took third place in the eternal scorer of the club.

On January 1, 1956, he was in the away game at Lane Rossi Vicenza his debut in Serie A, scoring his first goal at once. By the end of the season 1955/56, he came up with 18 appearances in the highest Italian league with eleven Torerfolgen. In the season 1958/59 he brought it to 17 goals in Serie A, this was his best goal tally in a season.

In 1961 he won with the rossoblu the Mitropa Cup in season 1963/64, followed by the biggest success of his career by winning the Scudetto, the Italian championship, under coach Fulvio Bernardini. In the 1960s Pascutti held the record for most games at start of season in a row, scoring a goal in which he ever met once in the opponent's goal in the first ten games. During the 1994/95 season he was, however, surpassed by Gabriel Batistuta, who once each was successful in the first eleven games. After the 1968/69 season, he finished his professional career with the rossoblu.

National

Pascutti was nominated for the friendly against France on November 9, 1958 for the first time in the squad for the Squadra Azzurra and gave in a 2-2 draw against the Équipe Tricolore his debut in the senior team. After that, he was not taken into account over three years for the national team and earned his second outing on June 7, 1962 against Switzerland in the final of the soccer World Cup 1962 in Chile. The Italians failed in this tournament in the group stage. Also for the Football World Cup 1966 Pascutti was appointed to the squad and came to a use in the group stage, where he remained, however, denied a goal is scored and the Squadra Azzurra again eliminated from the tournament already in the group stage.
