Ezra Stoller

Ezra Stoller ( born May 16, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois; † 29 October 2004 in Williamstown, Massachusetts) was American architectural photographer. Besides Julius Shulman Stoller is considered the greatest architectural photographer of the postwar era in the United States.

Life

Stoller, born in 1915 in Chicago, was known for his photographs of important buildings in the United States. Among other things, he has published in the fifties and sixties photos of Frank Lloyd Wright's Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Eero Saarinen's TWA Terminal and Louis Kahn's Salk Institute.

Stoller studied at New York University and founded Architecture 1966, the photo agency " Esto Photographics ". He loved and admired the then- modern post-war architecture. Well-known architects from his time felt honored when their buildings aroused the interest Stoller. His photographs have appeared mainly in black and white and in large format.

Stoller died on 29 October 2004 at the age of 89 years at his home in Williamstown / Massachusetts of a stroke.
