F. Nnabuenyi Ugonna

Frederick Nnabuenyi Ugonna ( born October 12, 1936 in Amaokpara / Ihitenansa, Nigeria, † June 5, 1990 in London) was a Nigerian ethnologist, linguist and literary theorist. He was baptized with the name " Frederick ", used this rather rare; therefore it is often called " F. Nnabuenyi Ugonna " abbreviated. Ugonna is known primarily for his contribution to the language of the Igbo and other African languages ​​as well as on the African literature.

Ugonna worked intensively with J. E. Casely Hayford factory Ethiopia Unbound (1911) and put forward the theory that it was the first real African novel. Ugonna then wrote for the second edition of 1966, a preface.

Ugonna died in London in 1990 from prostate cancer.
