Fabián Ramírez

Jose Benito Cabrera also known as Fabián Ramírez ( born July 6, 1963 El Paujil, Caquetá ) was a senior commander of the FARC.

Life

Ramírez was a member of the 30 - member leadership circle of the FARC. He took part in the peace negotiations with the government in the years between 1998 and 2002. On his head a reward of 2.5 million U.S. dollars has been exposed.

In 2010 it was reported that Ramírez had been killed in a clash near San Vicente del Caguán along with five other suspected FARC members. This turned out to be false, when he joined the British journalist Karl Penhaul gave an interview in 2013.
