Fabio Fabiani

Fabio Fabiani ( born October 13, 1974 in Ravenna ) is an Italian racing driver. He took from 2009 to 2011 in some races in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC) in part.

Career

Fabiani began his motorsport career in 1994 in motorcycling. In 2005 he moved into car racing and was initially active in smaller racing series. In 2007 he started in the European Touring Car Cup ( ETC Cup) and was sixth in the Super Production championship. In 2008 he again took part in the ETC Cup and won the championship of the Super Production championship.

In 2009, Fabiani for the Scuderia Proteam Motorsport BMW 320si in one to two races of the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC) in part. With a 17th place as best result he had no points. Fabiani 2010 joined the Scuderia Proteam Motorsport to a total of six WTCC races. With space 15 as the best result he ended his second WTCC season again with no points. In 2011, Fabiani for Proteam Motorsport again at several WTCC races in part. He still drives a BMW 320si, which was still equipped with the old 2- liter naturally aspirated engine. He was entitled to points for internal Jay -Ten Trophy, in the absence of competition, he even managed four class wins. Two of those victories he scored the only starter in this classification. However, Fabiani went behind the field in general and fell regularly by Dreher. Thus he acquired a reputation as the unofficial " spin king" of the WTCC. Although he often succeeded in qualifying no lap time within the 107- percent rule, the stewards still left him a long time start to the race. After he was 2011 in Suzuka failed again at the 107- percent rule, the stewards grabbed by the first time and did not participate in the race it. He lost his cockpit at Proteam Motorsport. Fabiani finally took in part for Engstler Motorsport another WTCC event. It managed to achieve in the Jay -Ten Trophy enough points to win the championship. In the world championship Fabiani, who did not compete in two events was, with a 13th place as best result with no points.
