Fabio Mignanelli

Fabio Mignanelli (* 1496 in Siena, † August 10, 1557 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Mignanelli was a professor at the University of Siena, later lawyer in Rome. He married Antonina Capodiferro, the sister of Cardinal Girolamo Recanati Capodiferro. They had a son together. When he was a widower, he entered the clerical state, which, however, he had to resist hostile about any bigamy and criminal irregularities themselves. He was first in diplomatic services, including in the Republic of Venice in 1537, he moved to abandon their alliance with the Turks and enter the war against them. In 1540 he became Bishop of Lucera. Pope Julius III. rose Mignantelli on November 20, 1551 cardinal and gave him the titular church of San Silvestro in Capite. In this consistory his relative Giovanni Michele Saraceni was cardinal. 1556 he moved to the titular church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo.
