Fabio Onidi

Fabio Onidi ( born March 9, 1988 in Milan ) is an Italian race car driver. He went from 2008 until 2011 in the Auto GP (formerly Euro Series 3000) on. In this series, he was runner-up in 2008. In 2012 he raced in the GP2 series.

Career

Onidi began his motorsport career in 2001 in karting, where he was active until 2003. Among other things, he won the Italian ICA Junior Championship in 2003. In 2004 he moved to Formula racing and was eighth in the German Formula BMW. In the following season Onidi remained in the German Formula BMW and ended his second season in eleventh place overall. In addition, he was 17th in the winter series of the British Formula Renault. In 2006, Onidi in the British Formula Renault, in which he finished in eleventh place overall. In 2007, he joined both the North European Formula Renault, in which he finished ninth overall with two podium finishes, as well as in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, where he was 20th at. He was also third in the winter series of Italian Formula Renault.

2008 Onidi joined the Euro Series 3000 to the Italian GP Racing team. With two wins and four additional podium finishes, he was behind Nicolas Prost runner-up. After graduating in winter 2008/2009 two races for the Italian team in the A1GP series, he moved within the Euro Series 3000 to FMS International, the renamed during the season in Coloni Motorsport. He has once again won two races for himself and he finished the season in third place in the overall standings. 2010 Onidi denied his third season in the now renamed in Auto GP championship. For the team he finished with Lazarus starting four third places for best results in eighth place overall. 2011 remained Onidi the team Lazarus in the Auto GP. In an accident at Donington he suffered a fracture of the right hand. However, he did not miss an event and has already performed two weeks after his accident again. With a win, he finished the season in fifth place overall. Against his teammate Fabrizio Crestani he sat down by 99 to 92 points. 2012 moved to Scuderia Coloni Onidi in the GP2 Series. While his teammate Stefano Coletti and Luca Filippi scored a podium placings and a win was a sixth place Onidis best result. The season he finished in 20th place.
