Fabrizio Poletti

Fabrizio Poletti ( born July 13, 1943 in Gavello (FC), Italy ) is an Italian former football player and coach.

Playing career

In the club

Fabrizio Poletti was committed in 1961 by the Torino, the first loaned him to AC Asti in the D series. From 1962 to 1971, he then played for Torino. The club won the 1967 /68, 1970/71, the Coppa Italia.

1971 moved to the U.S. Poletti Cagliari, 1974 Sampdoria, where he ended his active career in 1975.

In the National Team

Fabrizio Poletti debuted on June 16, 1965 against Sweden in the Italian national team.

In 1970 he was in the squad of the Italians, the vice world champion at the World Championship in Mexico under Ferruccio Valcareggi. The so-called Game of the Century against Germany, he came off the bench in 91 minutes.

Overall Poletti played six games for the Azzurri.

Coaching career

In 1993, Poletti was coach of the Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa.

Trivia

  • On the evening of October 15, 1967 Fabrizio Poletti was involved in Turin in a traffic accident and was doing slightly injured. His former team-mate Gigi Meroni died.
